PRODUCTION LOG - Creating the Project Schedule

I decided to create a project schedule today that would guide me and give me a rough outline as to what time I should be creating each aspect and refining each aspect over the course of the project.
To create this document I used a google search to find similar products and that way I could gain an understanding as to how one would make a project schedule.
I created a bar graph like diagram that demonstrated over a period of months how much time I would spend on all of the different aspects and areas of the production.
This is the google search that I made to find out how to lay out my production schedule. It helped a lot as it meant I could witness what other people put as their project schedules and emulate it.

Project Schedule

The project schedule will help me keep on top of my work and it will ensure that no work is left until the last minute. The project schedule is also key to ensure that my time management remains on point throughout the project.

I used different colours to make sure that it was easy to differentiate quickly between the different sections.

You may notice that a few of the different aspects of the project overlap. This is because it is likely that these aspects will overlap when I actual go ahead with the project. The planning and research sections have already begun and the planning section will likely extend over into september and maybe October (but hopefully not). The editing will be ongoing as I film and reshoot my video. The editng must start early on as it is neccassary when it comes to creating a good video. I need to know where I can improve constantly.

PRODUCTION LOG - Refining my idea

I have spent this week refining and adapting my idea because I was not comfortable with the concept I had initially prepared as I felt it was something that could have been adapted and changed in order to make the final product a better viewing experience at the end of the project. The idea has kept a few things from my initially proposed idea of a music video to Daft Punk's Human After All, but it is no longer a music video. I have chosen to remove the sound track completely in order to make way for a short film that focuses on the flaws in today's society. The idea mainly focuses on the way in which media today has consumed our lives. I want to make a short film that forces the audience to understand how we are now obsessed with the media to the extent that we can barely live our lives without it. i am planning to use an old "fat-back" TV in order to receive a good quality finish that will establish meaning as its a TV that maybe only older viewers will recognize and be able to identify with.

PRODUCTION LOG - Thinking of my idea

In the first few weeks of the new year i have managed to make good progress with my planning and my research for my music video. I have recently completed my mood board which featured many pictures of people with televisions for heads.this is because it relates directly to my idea.

The idea is that a man wears a hollowed out TV on his head. I came up with this idea after listening to Television Rules The Nation by daft punk. This then lead me to further develop the idea. Eventually I swapped song to Human After All. I chose human after all because i thought it'd be able to deliver a better message. I'm hoping that people will understand that my video has an underlying message that is anti-racism, this message is presented by the lyrics and by the different skin tones of the lips that I'll be using.
